Meditation, Mindfulness, And Grounding


 

What is Meditation, Mindfulness, & Grounding?

Meditation

Meditation is basically the act of completely clearing your mind. You can do this by concentrating on your breathing or repeating a mantra, among other methods. There are guided meditations on YouTube, Pandora, and other sites and apps. When you meditate you can connect with your higher self or even a deity you work with.

Grounding

Grounding is basically the process of releasing excess energy while bringing yourself into the present moment. It’s important to do this because when you have too much excess energy it becomes hard to focus and without focus, no magical working you do will be successful. Below is a list of some methods for grounding.

  Get into or nearby running water, even if it’s just running your hands under cool tap water.

  Physically touch something that comforts you, a blanket, a worry stone, anything.

Do a mindfulness practice 

Walk barefoot outside letting your bare feet connect with the earth.

 Meditate

 Breathwork

  Diffuse essential oils

 Do something physical 

 Take a hot shower

Take  a sea salt bath

Drink some water

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is when you bring yourself into the present moment. It’s similar to grounding, except you aren’t releasing energy & emotions, you’re allowing yourself to feel them. Below is a list of ways to be mindful.

 Mentally scan your body & acknowledge how everything feels

Work on a gratitude list

 Breathwork

Take a walk and listen to all the sounds around you
