Charm Casting 101

 What is charm casting? 

Charm casting is a method of divination. It can be done with any number of charms, trinkets, stones, etc. It's fairly common to start out with a small set and build it as you gain more practice, and as you come across new pieces. Each charm represents a different part of life or a life event, or really anything you like. At the end of this post, I'll include some possible charm meanings, but all that really matters is that the meanings make sense to you as the caster. Charm sets can be created by the caster or bought. At Sapphire Dopesoul's Etsy There is a set of 13 charms. (They are intuitively picked for each order. No 2 sets are ever the same.) 

How is it done?

The way it's done varies from person to person. Generally though, the charms are shaken up while focusing on a person or a question. Then the charms are dumped onto a cloth or dish and based on how they land a reading is given. Some casters use a cloth or board that has aspects of life written on it such as love, career, family, etc. Others just cast onto a blank space and the charms themselves represent the aspects of life. The following are just a few example scenarios. 
If a charm represents difficulty lands near a charm that represents family, there could be some issues in the person's family life. If a charm that represents newness and beginnings lands near one that represents love or relationships that could mean a new relationship, or a new chapter in an existing relationship such as an engagement, marriage, or even a baby. A charm representing a romantic relationship that lands alone or upside-down may mean difficulty in the relationship, or feeling isolated within the relationship. Everything is based on how they land and what your intuition tells you that they may mean.

Faith, Salvation, Sacrifice

Good luck, Wishes coming true
Elephant
Wisdom, Experience, Loyalty, Good luck, Companionship, Obstacles being removed

Eye
Protection, Intuition, Evil eye, Third eye


Feather
Gift from the divine, Someone is hearing your prayers, Spirit is protection you

Flower
Innocence, New beginning, Fresh start, Admiration, Spring or summer
Shell
Lifeforce, Protection, Feminine energy, Birth

Death- literally or figuratively, Danger

Key

Poppet uses and a printable pattern!

 What is a poppet? Poppets have been used in many cultures for many reasons. The most common and easily recognizable ones are voodoo dolls. Voodoo dolls specifically are of course part of a closed practice and off-limits to outsiders. That doesn't mean ALL poppets are off limits though. They can be very useful in many different types of magic, which I'll go over later in this post. A poppet is basically just a doll made to represent a person a spell is targeted at. They can be used in baneful magic to place a curse or hex on someone, but they can also be used in protective magic, Healing magic, To send someone good luck or good vibes, and plenty of other things. Making a Money Bowl

 What is a money bowl? Who couldn't use some more money in their life? A money bowl is a bowl or other container filled with things to draw money to you. You can fill it with all kinds of things, there's no one right way to do it. below I'll go over how I do mine. Feel free to use it exactly how I write it or to change it up as you see fit! How I do my money bowl First I took a ceramic bowl & cleansed it with some incense. Then I drew sigils on the inside for things like "Money from good sources comes to me", "Money flows to me with ease" and "My Etsy shop makes sales".
