Making Spell Jars

What is a spell jar?

Spell jars can be made for a wide variety of spells, such as Protection, Sweet jars, Self-love, Abundance, Good luck, Anti-anxiety, Anti-depression, Fertility, Curses/Hexes, and just about anything else you can think of.  Basically, you're going to take all your ingredients and combine them into a jar, then you'll seal the jar shut using wax, string, glue, or anything else that will keep it shut tight. Then you'll dispose of the jar in a specific way or you'll keep it on your altar to shake up every now and then when it needs refreshing. I'll list the specific ways of disposing of a jar at the end of this post. Keep in mind the lists of ingredients I'm giving with each type of jar is not complete, there's plenty more you could add to them, I could never list it all. The types of jars is also not complete, I couldn't list every time of jar you could make, even if I tried.

For most spell jars...

You'll want to start by gathering your ingredients together. Next, you'll cast a circle or create your sacred space to work in. First, cleanse your empty jar and write your petition. A petition is just your intent stated clearly and in the present tense. Now fold, crumple, or roll the petition up and put it in the jar.  Next, start adding your ingredients. You'll want your herbs and spices to be dried because herbs not totally dried out will create mold in the jar over time. When you're finished you can seal up the jar, take down your circle or sacred space and decide what you'll be doing with the finished jar.

Sweet jar basic guidelines

You want to use at least three different sweeteners. Sweeteners can be literally anything sweet. White sugar acts fast but doesn't last. Molasses, syrup, and honey all take longer to act but also last longer. You'll want to write out a petition and include a taglock. (I'll list taglock examples at the end of the post)
Some ingredients you can use include:
-Cinnamon for passion
-Cardamom for loyalty
-Dark chocolate for romance
-Milk chocolate for friendship
-Rosemary for fidelity
-Cilantro for marriage
-Clove for an aphrodisiac
-Rose for romance
-Cayenne for loyalty
-Basil for harmony

Ways of disposing of spell bottles

To keep something close, bury it in your front yard.
To attract something bury it under your front step
To destroy it's influence, burn it.
To move away from you, throw it in running water.
To conceal its origin, hide it in a tree.
To begin or strengthen throw east.
To weaken or end throw west.
If you're working with spirits or ancestors put it in the north.
For strong and fast results burn it.
For a curse bury it at a crossroads.
To break a curse submerge it in water in the west.
To cleanse something shred it and put it in a sage bundle.
